MYSTERIOUS SIGHTINGS IN THE GLACIEM RING

Field Report: SPEAR Operative // Call Sign “Specter-9”

Location: Nyx System — Glaciem Ring

Date: 2955.11.22

On my initial journey through the Nyx system I detected a weak signal originating from what appeared to be an abandoned station. During the jump to its coordinates I passed several long-abandoned QV Logistics relays, their lights flickering like they were still waiting for orders that never came.

Station QV-47 was marked in white lettering along the side of the main spindle. The station was lit but sealed tight, and an abandoned Polaris was docked along the forward spine, its hull scorched and silent. Inside I found breach marks and several Vanduul corpses, warrior class, their armor crushed by something I have never encountered before.

The deeper I moved into the station, the worse it became. The interiors were chaotic, as if the crew fled mid task, with equipment scattered and consoles still warm. Whoever or whatever struck this place moved quickly and left nothing alive. The entire station feels watched, as if something is still waiting in the shadows.

Specter-9 holding position. Legion arrival has begun, but extreme caution is advised throughout the sector. End log.

Legion Updates

THE LEGION AT IAE

IAE hit this year like a railgun round to the ribcage: loud, dazzling, and absolutely unapologetic. The show floor wasn’t an exhibition; it was a fortified armoury pretending to behave itself.

Front and center sat the RSI Perseus, radiating the kind of menace that makes insurance agents break into a cold sweat. All angular intimidation and slab-plated resolve, it looked less like a ship and more like a declaration: “Step closer. Make my day.”

Just a few meters over, the RSI Salvation tried its best to look delicate, the kind of delicate that means don’t touch unless you want to lose a hand. I’ve started calling it the Scarab, because it has that purposeful, armored-in-all-the-right-places vibe, elegant in the way a predator bug is elegant.

Then Drake, bless them, rolled out the Clipper, a vessel that feels like it was built in equal parts with charm, duct tape, and the sheer refusal to explode. It’s chaos with confidence. Squint a little and it’s even handsome. Shockingly comfortable too, for something that whispers, “Please don’t look too closely at the welds.”

Greycat’s MDC looked like someone’s midnight project accidentally became a career path, while Kruger’s L 22 Alpha Wolf prowled with the kind of sleek aggression normally reserved for high-end interceptors and people with something to prove. A worthy successor to the L 21: sharper, faster, hungrier.

Legion moved through the hall in formation, half of us cataloging specs, half already fighting over which hull to bring home. Nothing stirs the blood like brand-new steel gleaming under expo lights, and if you ask me, the energy in that hall could have powered a jump point collapse all on its own.

STATE OF THE LEGION RECAP & UPDATES

Thank you to all that attended the State of the Legion event. A lot was covered and we had many great discussions. Your feedback, both positive and critical, has been heard and we will continue to adjust as we move forward. We feel the Legion is in a great place, and it’s great to hear that so many of you agree. Below is recap of everything that was covered in the session - in addition to some changes that have happened as the result of community feedback.Commanders Redefined

Our command structure has been flexible as we’ve scaled in size and new needs have arisen. To meet our growing need for tighter organization, we’ve broken our command structure into two tiers containing three roles.ImperatorThis commander is dedicated to leading one or more divisions, in addition to assisting with operational needs. These members of staff are charged with coordinating all divisions and setting up elite operations. This role is limited to three seats. There are not currently any Imperators on staff, but stay tuned...

Ducatis

This commander is division-specific and dedicated to leading in organization and operational capacity. They are charged with creating training for their division and defining best practices based on current gameplay loops. Ducatis will delegate training assistance, through session hosting and curriculum development, with their Division Leads (Lancearius). While they are dedicated to a specific area, they are still Legion Commanders overall and should be respected as such.

Legatus

This commander is flexible, adaptable, and has a stronger dedication to being present in events, leading during operations, and assisting the community wherever they are needed. Legatus may also assist Ducatis commanders for training purposes. They are expected to maintain a working knowledge of all division trainings so they are always setting the right example.

Lancerius

A newly introduce specialization that is available to division-based Legionnaires at merit rank 10. This position acts as a division lead and is a natural progression from the Centurion role. Interested Legionnaires may apply for the specialization when the meet the merit requirements, where a special test will be administered by the division Ducatis. Lancearius seats are limited per division. Your request may be denied if there isn’t a spot available for your division.

The Dissolution of REAPER and the Creation of PHOBOS

As many of you know, our REAPER Division was put in place a few months ago by a former member of staff that has since parted ways with the Legion. When he left, his vision for REAPER did as well. With this loose definition becoming more problematic - the decision was made to dissolve REAPER entirely. However, we do not want to discount the want for a more intense area of the Legion to engage with Star Citizen. In the interest of serving this group, we’ve created a new TASK FORCE led by CMD-HV | Cpt_Silv and CMD-HL | Kior12 named PHOBOS. PHOBOS will operate as a specialized task force, not a division. Members of this task force are full-time Legionnaires and members of their division first and foremost. All former members of REAPER will reapply under updated criteria. Legionnaires reach eligibility for this task force when they reach merit rank 5. Currently, these operators are hand selected by the leaders of the task force. As this role sits outside of our standard commander structure, staff members are also welcome to participate - if they make the cut!Event TiersWe are also reworking our event tiers to better reflect the types of events we’ve been hosting. This also introduces a more intentional separation of training events.

Tier 0 | Casual | Discussion, non-Star Citizen, and Discord-based event | 0 merits

Tier 1 | Experienced | Standard Star Citizen-based events open to all Legionnaires | 1 merit

Tier 2 | Advanced | Structured Star Citizen event, based on sandbox activity, more strict enforcements | 1 merit

Training | Hosted by division Ducatis and Lancerius | Attendance required in order to attend a Tier 3 event | 2 merits

Tier 3 | Elite | Fully structured, large-scale, division-based event with strict enforcements | Based around latest sandbox content | 3 merits

More information about event tiers, and their requirements for entry, can be found in #command-announcement in the Discord.

  • Tier 0 | Casual | Discussion, non-Star Citizen, and Discord-based event | 0 merits
  • Tier 1 | Experienced | Standard Star Citizen-based events open to all Legionnaires | 1 merit
  • Tier 2 | Advanced | Structured Star Citizen event, based on sandbox activity, more strict enforcements | 1 merit
  • Training | Hosted by division Ducatis and Lancerius | Attendance required in order to attend a Tier 3 event | 2 merits
  • Tier 3 | Elite | Fully structured, large-scale, division-based event with strict enforcements | Based around latest sandbox content | 3 merits

More information about event tiers, and their requirements for entry, can be found in #command-announcement in the Discord.
